If you have a form on your website for people to use to send you an email, you may have created that form (or had it created for you) to minimize spam emails. You may know that email addresses on the web, placed on pages in plain text, are digital gold for spammers and scammers. They are easy to "harvest" using bots (robots) and/or spiders.
But some people may not enjoy filling out a form or they may feel intimidated by them. They may end up not contacting you at all. You might be missing out on some potentially important conversations.
This form will generate the code to help you avoid getting spam while not changing the user experience at all. The coded email will be shown on the page in plain text, but it will be unavailable to bots or spiders which are not programmed to process JavaScript programming code. Some bots can interpret JavaScript, but they are far from the majority of all bots. Use your own discretion in your decision to use or not use the code generated using this page. As always, use at your own risk.
Part of what the code on this page generates is a note that can be displayed to all visitors to your website with JavaScript turned off. Most likely, none of your visitors will ever see it. The wording of this note can be edited however you like.
To test the code, you will have to turn off JavaScript in your browser. How to do that is beyond the scope of this post. You can perform a search using the phrase, "turn of javascript in the xyz browser" and follow the instructions you find, but remember to turn JavaScript back on or you will experience a very different web surfing experience.
The email address you enter is not checked to ensure it is a valid email address. That is your responsibility. Please enter it accurately.
The code on this page is designed to work only with email addresses written in English.
The email address you enter is not stored on the server used by Phase One for this website or anywhere else under the control of Phase One.
